Alliance Partner Accepted Into Law Firm Diversity Organization
Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough alliance partner Kumar Pathak, LLC, has been accepted into the National Association of Minority & Women Owned Law Firms, a nonprofit trade association that works with corporations to assure the retention of minority and women-owned law firms. Kumar Pathak is the first South Asian firm accepted into membership and the only minority Georgia law firm as members.
"We are pleased and excited for our partners to be recognized by NAMWOLF and the opportunities it will bring to their firm," said Sara Turnipseed, a Nelson Mullins Atlanta partner who helped develop the Kumar Pathak alliance. "Their acceptance into this organization indicates they are a proven law firm that can provide able representation to corporations who seek to diversify their affiliations."
NAMWOLF encourages major corporations and public entities to use the services of minority and women-owned law firms. NAMWOLF assists its law firm members in developing strategic alliances, coalitions, and affiliations with corporations, in-house counsel, and other legal trade associations in an effort to ensure the long-term survival of minority and women-owned law firms.
Nelson Mullins and Kumar Pathak entered into a unique alliance in March 2009 to provide a wider array of legal services to clients of the smaller minority-owned firm in a cost-effective way while expanding the larger Nelson Mullins' South Asian client base and East Coast footprint.
Kumar Pathak's 16 attorneys are based in offices in Atlanta and Central New Jersey, a state that is home to some of Nelson Mullins' Fortune 500 pharmaceutical clients.
Nelson Mullins has more than 400 attorneys in 11 offices from Atlanta through the Carolinas and in Boston, Tallahassee, and Washington, DC.
